Introduction

same day shipment. By R&D departement non-stop attemps to enhance quality, Titanknife has successfully 
developed exclusive range of steel grades for your choice:
D2-HCHC (58 Rc) - High Carbon & High Chrome: Our D2 (AISI) knives offer the best value for many moulding 
producers and planer mills. D2 offers the lowest price per bar because it has a Rockwell C hardness (HRC) of 58. 
It is easy to grind and resists nicks in knotty soft woods. D2 contains 12% chromium to resist chemical erosion when 
cutting wet cedar or redwood. Great for softwoods and shorter runs in hardwoods.

V2-HSS - High Speed Steel: V2 is our newest exotic breed of HSS with extra Vanadium for long life. 
V2 offers the same wear life and performance as M2-HSS, but at a much lower cost. By increasing the levels of 
Vanadium to replace more expensive Molybdenum we have developed a blend of stell with excellent tool life and the 
lowest price of any HSS on the market. V2 has a 63HRC for better wear resistance in harder woods. 
Great for long runs in most soft and hardwoods.

M2-HSS  - High Speed Steel: Our true grade M2-HSS (AISI) steel offers 25% longer run times than D2-HCHC grade. 
Our Premium M2-HSS offers high levels of Tungsten (6% W), Molybdenum (5.5% Mo), and Vanadium (2.2% V).
M2-HSS is hardened to 63 HRC for better wear resistance in harder woods. Great for long runs in most soft woods 
and hardwoods. 

T1-HSS - High Speed Steel: Our T1 (AISI) steel offers 25% longer run times than M2-HSS. T1 is a well liked common 
European grade made of 18% Tungsten (W) for extra long runs and better resistance to abrasive glue lines. T1-HSS is 
1 point harder (64HRC) for extended tool life, yet easy to cut and profile grind because of the high levels of tungsten. 
T1 is popular for mills that run mostly hardwoods or for softwood mill that want the ultimate in knife life and cutting 
performance.

V3-HSS (67 Rc) - For extra dense hardwoods, & long runs.

BNv- Black Nitride High Speed Steel: BNv-HSS with case hardened (carbon nitride) and black oxide to resist pitch 
build up. BNv-HSS offers nearly 100% longer tool life increases over standard M2-HSS, without being harder to profile 
shape. Great for long runs and stubborn hardwoods.

ER -Special Treated Endurance HSS Steel: The best option for extended production time and tool life. An excellent 
choice for cutting problem hardwoods and for super long normal production runs. This proprietary knife coating 
process uses the latest technology developed in Europe for metal working tools. 
Special treatment to knife surface to form an extremely hard and heat resistant cutting edge. 
Note: To avoid removing the wear resistant coating, a wood block should be used to deburr the profile instead of an 
abrasive slip stone.

TCT Carbide Tipped Corrugated and Planer Knives -  Hardened to 89 HRC and wears 10 times longer than the best 
HSS. Great for abrasive hardwoods, composite wood products, wood with glue lines and synthetic materials. 
With carbide inlay ranging from 10mm to 35mm available. 

Just come and select most cost effective steel grades to match your cutting. Then you will undoubtedly get longer 
regrind time, better knife edge retention, and less down time, accordingly more production !

For special wood surface finish requirement, Titanknife can also offer corrugated knives with back combing.
